Prof. Dr. Christoph G. Paulus, LL.M. (Berkeley)
Prof. Dr. Christoph G. Paulus was awarded his LL.M. at Berkeley. He studied law at Munich, taking his doctorate in law in 1980. His postdoctoral qualification, gained in 1991, was in civil law, civil procedure, and Roman law, for which he was awarded the Medal of the University of Paris II. In 1989–90 he was in receipt of a Feodor Lynen Stipend from the Humboldt Foundation in Berkeley. In 1992–94 he was Associate Professor at Augsburg, and from the summer semester 1994 he was at the Law Faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin, becoming Dean of the Faculty in 2008–2010. In 2009 he was made Director of the Research Center Institute for Interdisciplinary Restructuring, and Consultant to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Among other roles he is member (and Director) of the International Insolvency Institute of the American College of Bankruptcy and the International Association for Procedural Law. Since 2006 he has been advisor on insolvency law to the German delegation to UNCITRAL. He is on the editorial board of the Zeitschrift für Wirtschaftsrecht (ZIP), the Norton Annual Review of International Insolvency, and the International Insolvency Law Review, among other journals. Since 2013 he has been Chair of the Academic Forum of INSOL Europe.
