Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Schön
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Schön studied law and economics studies at the University of Bonn, and was awarded his doctorate at Bonn in 1985. In 1992 he received his postdoctoral qualification in civil law, commercial, corporate, and tax law in Bonn. He was Professor at the University of Bielefeld from 1992 to 1996, and Director of the Institute for Tax Law and of the Centre of European Commercial Law, Bonn from 1996 to 2002. Since 2002 he has been Director and Scientific Member of the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition, and Tax Law in Munich. He has been Honorary Professor of Civil, Commercial, Corporate, and Tax Law at Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich since 2002. From 2008 to 2014 Professor Schön was Vice-President of the Max Planck Society. Since 2014 he has been Vice-President of the German Research Foundation (DFG).
