Is Italy one of the Leading Countries in the Green Energy Transition?

With Germany and Spain, Italy is among the European forerunners in the green transition. Many Italian companies are leaders in sustainable innovation, renewables, as well as in the digitalization of the grid.
It is really important to intensify cross-country cooperation, which is the most challenging part of what we are building in Europe.
The energy transition is an inclusive process and we must not leave important actors behind, otherwise it will not work.
The circular economy will replace the linear economy. The responsible use of raw materials is now a must.
Methane is now replacing coal. In the medium term, methane will be replaced by biomethane, green hydrogen and other synthetic green gases.
Climate change is going to be worse than COVID-19: we need to put all our efforts in the transition and we already have the technologies and resources to make that happen.
If we were to live cleaner and more sustainable, we would be able to save a lot of lives, which would not reduce our freedom but instead present a great opportunity.
