Prof. em. Dr Christoph G. Paulus, LL.M. (Berkeley)

Prof. em. Dr Christoph G. Paulus studied law at Munich, taking his doctorate in law in 1980. His postdoctoral qualification, gained in 1991, was in civil law, civil procedure, and Roman law, for which he was awarded the Medal of the University of Paris II. Between 1989 and 1990 he was a recipient of a Feodor Lynen Stipend from the Humboldt Foundation in Berkeley, from which he had earlier gained his LL.M. From 1992 to 1994 he was Associate Professor at Augsburg, and from the summer semester 1994 he was at the Law Faculty of Humboldt University in Berlin, becoming Dean of the Faculty 2008–10. He is Consultant to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Among other roles, he is a member of the International Insolvency Institute of the American College of Bankruptcy and the International Association for Procedural Law. From 2006 to 2010 he was advisor on insolvency law to the German delegation to UNCITRAL. He is on the editorial board of the Zeitschrift für Wirtschaftsrecht (ZIP), the Northern Annual Review of International Insolvency, and the International Insolvency Law Review.
